A South Hams man has been charged with drink-driving after police stopped a silver Land Rover Freelander on the A379 at Aveton Gifford in the early hours of Friday morning.

Chesney Peel, of Membland Court, Newton Ferrers, has been charged with drink-driving and driving otherwise in accordance with his licence.

Peel provided a positive sample of breath at the roadside and then taken to the Charles Cross Custody suite in Plymouth, where he provided a further positive test, according to the police.
