A Salcombe man has denied harassing and threatening a witness in the Tyler Peck drugs death case.

Fifteen-year-old Tyler, a student at River Dart Academy near Totnes, was found dead at a house in February this year.

Gavin Strawbridge, of Church Street, Salcombe, is accused of intimidating a man involved in the investigation.

It is alleged that the 29-year-old harassed and threatened the witness between August 21 and August 27 “intending thereby to cause the investigation to be obstructed, perverted or interfered”.

He pleaded not guilty at Plymouth Crown Court on Monday, October 7.

Judge Paul Darlow set down a trial to take three days, starting on December 18, 2019.

Mr Strawbridge was released on bail on the condition that he does not contact the witness and two other named people.

Another bail condition means he is banned from entering Kingsbridge and Salcombe and must report to police in Torquay once a week.

Holly Strawbridge, 34, was charged with two counts of supplying a Class A drug and two counts of child cruelty following Tyler’s death.

Ms Strawbridge, of Church Street, Salcombe, denied the charges and was remanded into custody to face trial on November 11, 2019.
