DARTMOOR SEARCH and Rescue Team Tavistock responded to an incident on Sunday, August 4.

The team was called to assist a group of three walkers, one of whom had sustained an ankle injury and was unable to walk unaided.

At nearly 8pm, the team arrived and assessed the walker.

Once provided with analgesia, the walker was given a vacuum splint and then loaded onto a stretcher.

Once evacuated, the individual was handed over to the ambulance service.
