Trustees of South Hams Hospital League of Friends gathered to formally present a garden bench in memory of their former president Dr Harold Stanley.

Trustees Daphne Jeffersn, Terry Andrew, Malcolm White and Jo Lapthorn came together with hospital matron Diana Green and Dr Stanley’s widow Eunice to dedicate the bench.

Trustee Terry Andrew said: “The bench stands on a paved terrace adjacent to the wards, where, given fine weather, ambulant patients can enjoy the pleasing outlook over the woodlands and fields.”

The hospital chaplain, the Reverend Derek Hill, presided over the ceremony on Tuesday, April 10, and blessed the bench for all those who use it in the future.
