Merry-Go-Round Preschool in Stokenham ended their term hosting a sports day for all preschoolers and their parents.

Vicky Harris, chair of Merry-Go-Round Preschool said: “Everyone had an enjoyable afternoon, watching the pre-schoolers demonstrate their skills in a variety of races which demonstrated balance, speed, agility and co-ordination.

“All children took part with enthusiasm, confidence and they demonstrated great companionship when crossing the winning line.”

The children then cheered their parents on as they spectated a truly competitive race by parents – won by, Laura Kerly and Charlie Baker.

The afternoon was followed by delicious homemade cakes, fresh fruit and refreshments served by the committee, with a special helping hand and donation from Sue Durrant, the Tesco community champion.

A final farewell ceremony was held for all the pre-schoolers who are taking their next steps on to primary school in September.

Vicky said: “They will all be deeply missed by all staff and younger friends. Each child was given a personalised PE bag and a memory plant as a reminder of their preschool experiences at Merry-Go-Round.

“Thank you for all the generous donations for raffle prizes, we raised an amazing £300 – which will help fund some new outside parent noticeboards next term.”
