Karate taster sessions and pool inflatables were showcased at Ivybridge Leisure Centre’s open day.
A spokesperson for the centre said: “The day-long programme saw a series of activities and taster sessions offered for free throughout the centre, including workouts in the gym and sessions in the exercise studio, racquet sports tasters in the sports hall and fun sessions for adults and kids in the centre’s stunning 25-metre pool.”
During the day residents enjoyed pool sessions, including aqua aerobic classes; sports hall activities including squash and badminton; gym circuit classes and inductions; and exercise classes including Pilates and yoga.
Anthony Cawley, CEO at Fusion, said: “The fun packed day gave residents in the area the chance to try something new and meet the friendly team at the Ivybridge Leisure centre, to learn more about their expertise and the facilities available.
“Our superb Ivybridge centre has some amazing facilities, and the open day provided an opportunity to showcase the wide range of activities on offer. We hope the open day inspired people in the area to take up a new sport or activity.”
Cllr Jonathan Hawkins, South Hams Council’s Executive Member for Leisure, Health and Wellbeing, added: “We know open days are very popular with residents. This event provided a great opportunity for families and friends to try taster sessions and discover the wonderful range of sports activities in a fun and safe environment.”
