THE Kingsbridge In Bloom team are continuing to be out in force ahead of the Britain in Bloom Champion of Champions judge due in a matter of weeks.
The judge will arrive on Monday, July 11, and the KIB team are keeping the town looking it’s best with even more displays this year for everyone to enjoy.
Graham Price, chairman of Kingsbridge in Bloom, said: ‘This is a really big year again for us following our Gold award in the RHS National finals last year. This success automatically enters Kingsbridge into this top category which includes the very best of the best ’Bloom’ towns, which is quite a challenge.
‘Our local councils, sponsors, community groups and individuals have been magnificent in supporting us again this year in our attempt to keep the town thriving and attractive.
‘We have tried to co-ordinate all of our displays with a new attractive colour scheme in our baskets and planters and with the support of our Fore Street businesses have significantly increased our displays for 2016. More beds on the Embankment have been developed with sustainable planting.
‘We are on plan on the lead up to judging which will be carried out by Jon Wheatley, a national judge and chairman of South West in Bloom so...no pressure!’
KIB also have 13 ’It’s Your Neighbourhood ’ groups in Kingsbridge, where people take responsibility for keeping their locality looking good. Two of these will be judged at the same time as the main judging and the others on July 13.
