Kingsbridge in Bloom are looking forward to another busy and competitive year.
Two themes dominate this time around; the 200th anniversary of the RNLI and the 60th anniversary of RHS Britain in Bloom competition.
Chairman Graham Price said: ''2024 is going to be a very busy year for the group and we are looking forward to another challenge with new displays added to our existing and celebrating the 200th anniversary of the RNLI and 60th anniversary of the Britain in Bloom campaign. ''We will be extending our pollinator friendly meadow seeding throughout the town and engaging the younger generation to help with the sowing and other activities with us. ''After a welcome break over the stormy festive season everyone is keen to get back again to carry out our seasonal routine maintenance and procurement of the display signage.''
Once again Kingsbridge excelled in last year’s South West Region RHS Britain in Bloom competition winning not only a gold certificate but were also awarded Champion of Champions for small villages and towns.
The green-fingered group which has been operating since 2007 will be rolling up their sleeves to keep bringing beautiful displays to the town and perhaps more competitive success in 2024.
