KINGSBRIDGE’S Recreation Ground has been awarded the Five Star Gold award by the Royal Horticultural Society.

Graham Price, chair of Kingsbridge In Bloom, received the Five Star Gold award in the RHS Best Parks Awards from the chair of the RHS National Judges, Roger Burnett.

Graham said: ‘We were proud to receive this top accolade for our great town. True recognition for the hard work and support of the Kingsbridge In Bloom and South Hams District Council teams, Kingsbridge Town Council, our businesses and everyone who supports us.’

Councillor Wayne Grills, mayor of Kingsbridge, said: ‘A well deserved award proving that long term commitment and dedication from multiple organisations can produce a quality of park in our town.

‘A deserved congratulations to all who have worked so hard to provide facilities of this standard to our community.’
