Lisa Butcher has organised another sponsored walk in aid of Save the Children and is looking for more walkers.
This time the event takes place on Saturday, September 16, and is an 18-mile route along the Templar Way from Haytor to Teignmouth. The Way traces the route by which granite was exported from Dartmoor via the unique Haytor Granite Tramway and the Stover Canal. ?Organiser Lisa Butcher, from Love2walk K9s, said: “From Haytor the walking is quite easy as it is downhill. It takes in a wide range of scenery including open moorland, woodland, river valleys, passing old quays and locks and along estuary foreshore; fascinating examples of the old tramway and canal are passed.”
Save the Children provides help for children in 120 countries around the world, including the UK. There are over 3.5 million children living in poverty in the UK alone, and together with major crises in East Africa, South Sudan and Syria to name but a few, the charity needs much help in delivering the necessary care.
Anyone interested in joining the walk should contact Lisa Butcher on 07710 409140, or email [email protected].
