The South Hams has gone seven weeks without a recorded death related to coronavirus, latest figures show.
The data is positive for the wider region too, with no deaths related to coronavirus recorded across Devon and just one death in Cornwall.
It is the second time in three weeks that just one death across the two counties and no deaths in Devon have been recorded for the seven day period.
The only death recorded in the latest weekly figures occurred in a hospital in Cornwall – although a second backdated death for the week ending April 10 has been added.
No new deaths in care homes were recorded, and it is the third week in a row that across the whole of Devon, there has been no new care home deaths.
The figures relate to deaths in which COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate were registered in that time period.
The Isles of Scilly has still yet to see a COVID-19 related death, while Mid Devon and North Devon have gone six weeks without a death, and Teignbridge and Torridge five weeks.
In total, 566 deaths from coronavirus have been registered across Devon and Cornwall, with 303 in hospitals, 220 in care homes, 42 at home, and one in a hospice.
Of the deaths, 207 have been registered in Cornwall, 90 in Plymouth, 58 in Torbay, 49 in East Devon, 39 in Exeter, 33 in Teignbridge, 26 in North Devon, 20 in Torridge, 17 in Mid Devon and West Devon, 12 in the South Hams, and none in the Isles of Scilly.
The figures show in which local authority the deceased’s usual place of residence was.
For instance, if someone may have died in Derriford Hospital but lived in West Devon, while the death may have been registered in Plymouth, their death would be recorded in the mortality statistics for the Office for National Statistics (ONS) figures against West Devon.
The latest figures released by the ONS today, relate to the week of June 27 and July 3, but were registered up to July 11.
