Kingsbridge Town held its joint President’s and Captain’s Day on Sunday.
This event is in aid of charity and all proceeds will be presented to Cancer Research UK.
After the deluge on Saturday it was feared that the green would be waterlogged, but the surface was found to be in perfect condition after an early inspection and the weather stayed fine.
The event consisted of a round robin pairs, with six pairs each playing three matches. The winners were David Thorne and Colin Baker, who won all their three matches.
The event was arranged by president Pierre Verniquet and captain Keith Baston, with the format proving to be very popular. A ploughman’s lunch was organised by Sue Allen, ably assisted by Marion Thorne.
A raffle was also held and the total raised by the event was in excess of £200.
