Kingsbridge Town Bowling Club opened its green for the 99th season on Wednesday.
President Pierre Verniquet delivered the first bowl of the year and declared the green open. Members then played in a roll up to get the feel of things after the winter break.
Town will hold an open day at Eastern Backway at 2pm this Saturday, April 16, and anyone who is interested can come along and try their hand at the game.
Bowls will be provided and all that is needed is a flat pair of shoes. Everyone will be made very welcome and refreshments will be served during the afternoon. Town play mostly friendly matches so nothing is take too seriously.
Town’s ladies play their first match at home to Ivybridge on May 5 and the first mixed match is at Totnes on May 14 for the first leg of the Summers Trophy.
Town are also holding a supper on April 21 to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday at 6.30pm at the clubhouse. The price is £8.
The club are also presenting a Spanish evening at West Charleton Village Hall on Saturday, May 21, at 7pm. Tickets are £10. If anyone is interested in these events, contact the club on 01548 531661
