Due to the hard work of Vic and his ground staff after a somewhat wet and difficult spring, the beginning of season bank holiday tournament was well supported and played on good solid grass courts.

The event was played as a mixed doubles round-robin which produced some excellent rallies and good firm volleys showing the correct tactics on grass.

The runners-up were Sandy Matthews and Sue Duguid with 17 games and the winners were Stewart Barnes and Linda Scott with a total of 20 games.
