MORE than £700 was raised for the Triangle Centre in Kingsbridge with a Bridge Day in Moreleigh this month.
Moreleigh Village Hall was the location of a Bridge Day organised by Bigbury Golf Club captains Caroline Hallett and Mick Gates. Steve Dooley agreed to be the director for the day, which included the 50 attendees completing two two-hour Bridge sessions with a lunch in between.
The top East/West prize went to Phil and Mary Palmer, while the top North/West prize going to Vanda Irish and Sue Allen. Derek and Daphne Scorer won the prize for best individual score.
To finish the day, champagne, flowers, chocolates, wine and other goodies were raffled off to add to the final £727 raised for the Triangle Centre at Kingsbridge Hospital.
Caroline Hallett would like to thank all those who took part; those who helped on the day and all who helped raise a ‘fantastic amount’ for the local hospital.
Based in Kingsbridge Hospital and open every Tuesday, the Kingsbridge Triangle Drop In Cancer Support Centre supports cancer patients closer to home.
The Triangle Centre was created to provide professional support for cancer patients and their families closer to home. People living in rural areas will understand the difficulties of getting to our larger hospitals and be aware of the value of having a wide variety of services at their local community hospital.
